Directly below are images of work that is hand carved maple and fabricated steel.
This work has been pivotal in elevating my pastel painting into a new realm of spatial exploration, unlocking numerous avenues for thought and expression. In this process, understanding the individual's state of agency parallels the independent components of each hand-carved wood frame and sub-frame. Each wooden sculpture stands as a complete and valuable entity in its own right.
My primary concern lies in the interaction between these pieces, a dynamic that has inspired the title "To Cause To Happen." The statement also runs close to the sculpture series "BANG" where self involvement and value interacts with the components (Chance, Choice, and Aesthetics).
"CAUSE TO HAPPEN II' A dialog between the elements of three edges to a point and the orchestration of carved stone, steel and negative space.
"CAUSE TO HAPPEN I" Carved wood and fabricated steel, recycled from a 60,000 gallon water tank.
"CAUSE TO HAPPEN III To embrace" Stained and waxed, hand carved maple. (6"x20"x13")
